Q. How did you come up with the IDEA for your remix entry?
A. I first created some drum tracks of my own along with some of the original samples, and that sounded good, so I kept that. I was playing the piano patch from the Fantom S and came up with the accompanying piano part you hear in the middle and near the end of the song. Then i just filled in the gap.
Q. What software was used to create your entry?
A. Energy-XT, Fxpansion GURU, Synth1, Crystal, DigitalFishPhones Blockfish, dBlue Glitch, Voxengo Tempo Delay, Kjaerhus Classic Compressor, Emu 0404's Stereo Reverb, Stereo Delay, Flanger and Anarchy Recorder.
Q. When did you start using Energy-XT?
A Last year (2005), I downloaded the EXT demo and was very impressed with its modular structure as well as its simplicity.
Q.Is Energy-XT your main choice of music software?
A. Yes.
Q. What is your prefferred genre(s) of music to make?
A. DnB, Ambient, and recently, Jazz.
A. Do you play any musical instruments?
A. I play the piano, and a little bit of classical carnatic violin.
Q. Do you have a favorite hardware synth or instrument?
A. Fantom S and Fxpansion GURU are my favorites.
Q. How long have you been producing electronic music?
A. Around 4 years.
Q. How old are you?
A. 18.
Q. Do you use samples when making your own original music?
A. I use one-shot samples to make my own beats,
such as samples from a drum kit (kick, snare, hi hats, etc), or sound effects, etc.
Q. Which music artists/bands influence you?
A. A.R.Rahman, Illayaraja, Boards of Canada, Autechre, BT, Bjork, Chris Clark, Bola.
Q. Anything else you might like to add?
A. Huge thanks to all the software developers (particularly the freeware developers) for making good, usable and fantastic products for musicians like myself, and of course Sampleremix.com for hosting the contest.
