CONTEST F.A.Q. --------------------- Q. Done the basis for a track, but just want to know if I can load a sample into Symptohm or Cameleon, or does that count as illegal synth usage?? A. You can use the samples in any sampler you like, as long as you DONT blend any actual synthesis with them, i.e. you CAN'T load the samples into CRONOX3, and then blend analog osc's with the samples, etc - Q. One thing in the rules that is a little vague - no other sounds INCLUDING any generated by synths or is it just no other sounds from samples? A. No other sounds from ANY other source. Period. Q. I have an aversion to loops. I assume it's ok to not use the loops in their entirity right? I'll just sample the notes and play them as an instrument if that's within the rules. A. YOU BET! chop the loops, chop out the individual hits from the loops, etc - GO NUTZ! Q. Can I use a turntable for scratch those samples? Also can I use different effects for those samples? A. YOU BET! You can use any music software or hardware you like to create your entry! Q. Can I release my entry track on my own COMMERCIAL album? A. YES! Once you have created a track with these samples, you own the license to the track. Any track you create with our samples CAN be released on your commercial CD's, or soundtrack projects. You do not have to credit us for the samples if you use them in a commercially released song or album, but you should not claim that YOU created them, either!
