Q. How did you come up with the IDEA for your remix entry?
A. The decision to make this remix was done spontaneously. Accidentaly I found myself surfing on the sampleremix.com website, downloaded the remix pack and gave it a shot.
Q. What software was used to create your entry?
A. I used the following to shape my sound and finally master it:
Software Sequencers: EnergyXT, Ableton live lite 5.
Software VSTi Samplers : Wusikstation V3, Manyone, Sfz.
Software VSTFX: Fabfilter Timeless and Volcano, Camel Phat and space, IL Waveshaper, FilterBank 914, Tone2 Filterbank, Ambiemce reverb, KarmaFx Reverb, Kjaerhus Classic Master Limiter.
Q. When did you start using this software?
A. I started using software since I began to buy computer music. I have used older PC versions of Logic and Cubase and now I am using EnergyXT which is still evolving and during this year (2007), version 2 will be released with lots of exciting features.
Q. Is this program your main chioce of music software?
A. Yes indeed. However there are times I use EnergyXT nested inside Ableton Live Lite which is an outstanding program as well.
Q. Did you use other programs before you chose this one?
A. Yes, as I mentioned before I used early version of Logic and Cubase. Logic used to be my favorite until it became available only for MAC.
Q. What is your prefferred genre(s) of music to make?
A. I like almost every kind of electronica and especially techno, IDM and DNB. I prefer to work with synthesized sounds.
Q. Do you play any musical instruments?
A. I used to play drums in a band and some keyboards.
Q. Do you have a favorite hardware synth or instrument?
My favorite synth is not hardware since I haven't had yet much experience with hardware synths. My favorite software synth which mimics an older hardware monster is Gmedia's Imposcar. Perfect synth for techno and IDM stuff.
Q. How long have you been producing electronic music?
A. This question is a little blurred. I have been producing as a hobby roughly since 1999.
Q. How old are you?
A. 31
Q. Do you use samples when making your own original music?
A. Yes quite a lot. I try to make unique stuff out of the samples that I use. this involves a lot of FX proccesing, slicing and rearranging loops and irregular usage of samples(e.g. using a bass drum for making a bassline, using synth sounds as percussion, extreme streching and pitching, resampling and other countless creative processes.)
Q. Which music artists/bands influence you?
A. Oh that is quite a big list. I started lestening to rock music and at some point i turned to electronic music.Names like Kraftwerk, Orbital, Underworld, Tangerine Dreams, Aphex twin, Autechre, Plaid, Boards of Canada are amonst the hundreds of electronic artists that have influenced me.
Q. Has your music been compared to any other artists/bands?
No because music is still a hobby for me. However my friends tell me that some of tracks remind them IDM artists like Aphex Twin.But hell no, this is an insult to the God of IDM.

Q. What do you do (hobbies) when you are not making music?
A. I like movies and art stuff like visiting galleries and of course going out to listen to some good music either in clubs or concerts.
Q. What is your current favorite piece of electronic gear/gadget? (doesn't have to be related to music, could be your i-pod, cell phone, etc....)
A. My Korg Electribe SX.

A. Dewars

A. I really enjoyed this remix contest and probably I will participate in others as well. Having the restriction to work with predefined samples can be very creative. I suggest all of to give it a try.
