interview with "Beatslaughter"

Q. How did you come up with the IDEA for your remix entry?
A. I've experimented with the samples and had two small ideas finished, a slow ambient like one and the drum and bass track. I've picked the DNB song and rendered the drumloops out of my ambient idea for usage in the final track. Got it finished quite fast and fortunatly before the deadline arrived since i noticed the compo pretty late. It was quite a challenge, i had some problems making some nice drumsounds out of the supplied samples, which would fit into a rough DNB song.
Q. What software was used to create your entry?
A. Renoise for sequencing and some internal FX, Camel Crusher, Classic Delay, Classic Phaser, Cyanide2, Electri-Q (posihfopit edition), Glaceverb, Metallurgy, Tone2 Filterbank2, PSP Pseudo Stereo, PSP Stereo Enhancer, Spectralive NXT, Voxengo Boogex, Voxengo Polysquasher, Voxengo Tempo Delay, Voxengo Vintage Modulator and Voxengo Elephant.
Q. When did you start using this software?
A. I've been using Renoise for two years.
Q. Is this program your main choice of music software?
A. Yes.
Q. Did you use other programs before you chose this one?
A. Yes, i've tried some other hosts before, but wasn't confident with the workflow. I'm not naming any. :)
Q. What is your prefferred genre(s) of music to make?
A. Nearly all kinds of dark electronic genres like Ambient, Breaks and Experimental.
Q. Do you play any musical instruments?
A. No, unfortunatly not. I'd like to play keyboard.
Q. Do you have a favorite hardware synth or instrument?
A. No, i'm not using any hardware except my controllers.
Q. How long have you been producing electronic music?
A. Around 12 to 13 years with a long break in between.
Q. How old are you?
A. 26
Q. Do you use samples when making your own original music?
A. Yes, mostly for drumsounds and effects. One of the strengths of a tracker.
Q. Which music artists/bands influence you?
A. Probably too many to name all, but i really like Beefcake, Kattoo, Detritus and Exillon.
Q. Has your music been compared to any other artists/bands?
A. I got once compared to Funckarma with an unfinished track.

Q. What do you do (hobbies) when you are not making music?
A. I'm doing a bit of hobby programming and web developement, also like to watch films.

A. My computer. :)
Q. What is your favorite soda/beverage?
A. I love Ginger Ale.
